After the spread of Islam in Azerbaijan, the people quickly embraced Islam, creating a favorable environment for the development of Hadith science. This research focuses on the contributions of Azerbaijani muhaddis scholars to the science of Hadith from historical, cultural, and methodological perspectives. Azerbaijani muhaddis have played significant roles not only in the transmission of Hadiths but also in the compilation, classification, and interpretation of Hadiths. The study examines the scholarly biographies of muhaddis from different historical periods, the intellectual circles they were part of, the traditions they followed, and the works they authored. Moreover, the analysis includes their positions within Hadith science, their roles in the chains of transmission, their scholarly lineage, and their approaches to textual criticism. Classical Hadith sources, biographical literature, manuscript collections, and archival documents have been used as primary materials for this research. The transformations in the scientific life of Azerbaijan are also briefly addressed, with an emphasis on how different political and cultural periods influenced the development of religious sciences. Despite the significant restrictions on religious activities during the Soviet era, some muhaddis made efforts to preserve the scholarly traditions. Ultimately, this research demonstrates that the contributions of Azerbaijani muhaddis to Hadith science are not only regional but also hold a distinct and notable place in the broader Islamic world.
