This study examines the transformation of the Azerbaijani family occurring between modernity and tradition from philosophical and sociological perspectives. Historically, the Azerbaijani family based on the extended family model, a patriarchal structure, and intergenerational solidarity has represented a social space characterized by the stable preservation of cultural norms. Processes of modernization such as urbanization, individualization, the rise in educational attainment, economic independence, and the spread of digital forms of communication have led to significant changes both in the functional aspects of the family and in its value system. These changes have contributed to the weakening of traditional power relations, more active participation of women in socio-economic life, and an increasing role of individual choice in relation to collective norms. The study demonstrates that the influence of modernization does not result in the complete disappearance of traditional values; rather, it fosters a new balance and a hybrid cultural structure within the family. As a result, the Azerbaijani family is viewed as a dynamic social institution that simultaneously preserves its traditional identity and adapts to the demands of modern life.
